Here are some of the best superhero movies that had won the hearts of both critics and audience with their heart-pounding action, mesmerizing story lines, and faithful adaptation of their respective graphic novels.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Even hardcore Marvel fans have to agree, Christopher Nolan’s Batman is the superhero movie that clearly started it all. Loosely based on the one-shot graphic novel The Killing Joke (1988) and the graphic series Long Halloween (1996-1997), this flick managed to break barriers to become one of the most beloved and critically acclaimed superhero film of ALL time. It also managed to break all records and win several accolades including the posthumous award for Best Supporting Actor to Heath Ledger.

The Avengers (2012)

While Ironman (2008) is the movie that formally initiated the current Marvel film universe, it is The Avengers that had pushed the envelope and won the hearts of everyone, including those who had never read the graphic novel before. A certified box office hit, the film is not only action-packed, it is also filled with witty dialogue and dry humor that will be eventually become the signature for Marvel universe. Light, fun-filled, and totally exhilarating, it is the superhero movie that you’ll want to watch over and over again.

The Incredibles (2004)

Sorry, DC and Marvel fans, but when it comes to the best ensemble superhero team-ups, it is Pixar’s The Incredibles who did it first. This computer-animated movie tells the story of a family of superheroes who tried to blend in with the society but was later forced to use their powers against a common enemy. While The Incredibles is clearly marketed for small children, its awesome story and interesting plot topples big-budget live-action films. The first film is so unforgettable that, even after a decade has passed, fans are still excited to see the sequel which is set for release this coming June 2018.
